Our group spent the whole day in a beautiful and  old city – Florence. We came to Florence by train together with our teacher, and it was our first visit here. The weather was cold and windy, but it did not rain. We walked around the city and visited lots of interesting places, such as The Duomo, Piazza della Signoria with Palazzo Vecchio, a wonderful bridge with Ponte Vecchio – lots of small jeweler’s shops. The buildings and castles looked really great and the city reminded us of our Polish city - Cracow. After sightseeing a few places, we decided to have lunch, we ate some sandwiches and rest for a while in a small park by the river bank. Then, we visited the museum of Science, in which we saw an exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci’s inventions. It was entitled ‘Leonardo da Vinci’s automobile’. We saw the digital dynamic models and the working models. Besides, we saw many pictures drew by Leonardo. The museum is one of the most important in the world as there are over 1500 exhibits from various thematic areas such as mathematics, science, Galileo’s instruments, astronomy, the origin of the mechanical clock, evolution in medicine and pharmacy and many others. This was a truly fascinating day. We went back to Borgo San Lorenzo and spent the evening with our partner families.

The Duomo - the most wonderful church in Florence.
