We spent this day in the school, where our friends from Italy go on weekdays.
We had two English lessons in the multimedia laboratories. During the first lesson we watched a part of ‘The Matrix’. The movie was in English with additional subtitles. The second lesson was in another laboratory, a more modern one. We worked in pairs together with Italian students, we were talking about our interests, families and so on. Our third lesson was Social Studies. We exchanged information about schools, educational systems, war in Iraq etc.
After this lesson Mr Georgio Teolli showed us the school building. Giotto Ulivi is a huge school situated in Borgo San Lorenzo. There are about 1200 students at the age of 14 – 19. They have well-equipped language and science laboratories. We saw an exhibition about peace in the world, a school library, a museum of nature and a gym which is as big as the one in Niechobrz.
After that, we attended another lesson – this time it was Physics. We did some experiments together with the Italian class. After that we had lunch in the school canteen. We had traditional Italian food – tortellini, cutlet and fries, some cake as a dessert and some fruit. The meal was delicious and it tasted excellent.
At about 2 p.m. our group, the Italian students, their teacher – Mr. Paolo Badiali and their parents went to Scarperia, where we saw a beautiful Palazzo dei Vicari with its Museum of Sharp Tools. Then, we went to another village to see an old church from the 11th century and the Museum of Archeology.
This day was exciting and full of attractions.
