A group of 10 students from “Av. Dr. I. Senchea” School
Complex, Fagaras Romania led by the coordinating teacher of the project prof.
Michaela Judele, have carried out the 3-week placement in full agreement with
the project from 30th April to 21st May. The students as
from previous contacts and official commitments were placed in 2 farm holiday
resorts of the area around the town of Borgo San Lorenzo, some 28km from
Florence, ( they are usually called agriturismi in Italy: La Ripa and Corzano)
to carry out their working tasks. The students showed great interest in the
project knowing that this experience might be useful for their prospective
careers in tourism. They were punctual and kind showing respect to all the
people involved and being willing to carry out all chores assigned by the
facilities’ owners. They were also quick at picking up the Italian language and
willing to use it for communicating with the coordinator and other staff from
Giotto Ulivi and the department canteen where they had their midday meals.
The Romanian coordinator prof Michaela Judele has been supportive and well organized in all the paperwork dealings making the placements easier to handle. On the Italian side, students have been followed both as a group and individually by the coordinator and 2 other Giotto Ulivi teachers more directly linked to the agritourism sector (prof. Roberto Ticci and prof. Alessandro Bellini) and their achievements assessed in agreement with the farm holiday resorts owners Luca Saulle and Laura Gianassi who have both greatly appreciated the contribution given by the Romanian students.
